Where SMART repair fits
SMART repair is a localised bodywork method. It can be a suitable route when damage sits within a contained area and the surrounding panel finish supports a local repair.
The assessment checks the panel, material, paint condition and the visible edge of the damage before the workshop recommends a method.
- Contained scuffs, marks or local paint damage
- Small areas where the surrounding finish remains stable
- Damage that does not require a wider panel-level finish decision
When a wider panel respray may be discussed
A wider respray conversation starts when the damage extends across more of the panel, the paint is lifting, blending would be complex or the overall finish has deteriorated.
The workshop will explain the repair boundary and quote route after seeing the vehicle. It should not be guessed from a photograph alone.
