Alloy Wheels Sold & Fitted in Mitcham

Buying alloy wheels should be straightforward — but the fitment details are where most people come unstuck. PCD, centre bore, offset, load rating: get any one of these wrong and the wheel either will not fit or will compromise your vehicle's handling. At IQ Tyres, we do not just sell wheels; we verify the specification against your vehicle before we recommend anything.

Our stock covers the most popular fitments for Ford, Vauxhall, VW, Audi, BMW, Toyota, and Honda — the vehicles we see most often in Mitcham, Morden, and Carshalton. For less common fitments, we order from our supplier network with typical lead times of two to three working days.

Every set of wheels we sell is fitted and balanced in-house. We do not outsource the fitting or hand you a box and send you elsewhere. We check the selected wheel and tyre combination against the vehicle before fitting.

Our Fitting Process

From fitment consultation to wheel balancing — here is exactly what happens when you buy alloy wheels from IQ Tyres.

01

Fitment Consultation

We confirm your vehicle's PCD (pitch circle diameter), centre bore, offset (ET value), and load rating before recommending any wheel. Fitting the wrong specification can affect handling, cause vibration, or invalidate your insurance.

02

Style & Size Selection

Browse our in-stock range or order from our supplier catalogue. We advise on the maximum size that fits your arches without rubbing, and whether you need spacers or extended wheel bolts.

03

Tyre Fitting (if required)

If you need new tyres to go with your wheels, we fit and balance them in-house. We stock a full range from budget to premium brands and can advise on the best tyre for your driving style.

04

Professional Fitting

Wheels are fitted using a calibrated torque wrench to the manufacturer's specification. We never use an impact gun on final tightening — over-torquing distorts brake discs and damages wheel bolts.

05

Wheel Balancing

Every set of wheels is balanced on our dynamic balancing machine after fitting. Unbalanced wheels cause steering vibration and accelerated tyre wear — it is not optional, it is standard practice.

Why Buy From IQ Tyres?

We have been fitting wheels in Mitcham for over 20 years. Here is what makes the difference.

Correct Fitment Guaranteed

We verify PCD, centre bore, offset, and load rating for every vehicle before recommending a wheel. No guesswork, no returns.

Expert In-House Fitting

Wheels fitted to manufacturer torque spec using a calibrated wrench. We do not use impact guns on final tightening.

Dynamic Balancing Included

Every set balanced on our dynamic balancing machine as standard — not an optional extra.

Tyre & Wheel Fitment Check

Before fitting, we verify clearance, tyre size and wheel hardware for your vehicle.

Structural Warranty

All wheels carry a minimum 12-month structural warranty. Premium wheels carry 3 years.

Same-Day Fitting Available

In-stock wheels can be fitted same day. Special orders typically arrive within 2–3 working days.

Not Sure Whether to Buy New or Refurbish?

If your existing alloys are structurally sound but cosmetically damaged — kerb rash, corrosion, or faded lacquer — refurbishment is almost always the better value. Our alloy wheel refurbishment service restores wheels to factory condition from £60 per wheel. New alloys make more sense when the existing wheels are cracked, buckled beyond repair, or you want a completely different style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about buying alloy wheels in Mitcham and South London.

Q.How do I know which alloy wheels will fit my car?

Fitment depends on four measurements: PCD (the bolt circle diameter — e.g. 5×112 for most VW/Audi), centre bore (the central hole diameter), offset (ET value — how far the wheel sits in or out of the arch), and load rating. Bring your vehicle to us and we will check all four before recommending anything. Alternatively, check your existing wheels — the spec is stamped on the back of the spoke.

Q.Can I fit larger alloys than my car came with?

Yes, within limits. Going up one inch in diameter is usually straightforward if you use a lower-profile tyre to maintain the same overall rolling circumference. Going up two or more inches may require arch modifications or spacers. We will advise on the maximum safe size for your specific vehicle and check for brake caliper clearance before ordering.

Q.Do I need new tyres when I buy new alloys?

Not necessarily. If your current tyres are in good condition and the new wheels are the same size as your originals, you can transfer the tyres across. If you are changing wheel size, you will need new tyres sized to maintain the correct rolling circumference. We can fit and balance new tyres in-house on the same visit.

Q.What do you check before fitting new alloys?

We check PCD, centre bore, offset, load rating, tyre size, clearance and wheel hardware before fitting. This helps ensure the chosen wheels are suitable for your vehicle.

Q.Do you fit TPMS sensors to new alloys?

Yes. If your vehicle has a tyre pressure monitoring system, we can fit and programme TPMS sensors to your new wheels. Mid-range and premium alloys in our range include TPMS-compatible valve stems. Budget alloys require separate sensor purchase. We will advise at the point of sale.

Q.Can I buy alloys without having them fitted at your garage?

Yes — we sell wheels on a supply-only basis. However, we strongly recommend professional fitting and balancing wherever you buy from. Incorrectly fitted or unbalanced wheels cause steering vibration, accelerated tyre wear, and in extreme cases, wheel separation. If you buy elsewhere and want us to fit and balance, we are happy to do so.
